You Are Not Failing Your Body; You Just Have Different Rules.
If you are looking for a fitness expert who understands that gym culture is often very intense and "dude bro-ish," you have found your safe space.
Whether you are seeking a genuinely LGBTQ+ friendly environment, or you are navigating the waves of chronic illness and disability, I am here to help you keep the faith. I provide a 1-on-1 scenario in a private, outwardly accepting space without a bunch of people working out around you.
The Philosophy: "All or Something"
When training is your therapy and your emotional regulation, the mental toll of a forced stop is usually heavier than the physical setback. My approach is built entirely on working with your body, not against it.
Here is what we focus on:
Adaptive Mode: Progress with chronic stuff is never a straight line; it’s waves. When you can go hard, go hard. When you can’t, go soft, but don't quit fully. We pivot the type of exercise and the intensity based on your current wellness level.
"All or Something" vs. "All or Nothing": We find the minimum you can do. A workout done at low intensity, or even 5 minutes of gentle static stretching, is better than a workout skipped because you couldn't do it "right." 85% is our 100%. Perfect is the enemy of good.
The Discipline to Downshift: When your body hits the brakes, the win is the discipline to downshift without spiraling. You are building a capacity for resilience that people with healthy bodies never have to develop.
Flare-Up Exercise Plans: We build an actual, personal protocol for restarting from various levels of time off and flare-ups. We incorporate the reality of setbacks as part of our plan, utilizing seated exercises, physio-type movements, or whatever you need so you can manage your spoons.
A Safe Space, First and Foremost
Big box gyms aren't just intimidating, they are exhausting. You deserve a fiercely protected space where you don't have to explain your flare-ups, defend your body, or navigate gym-bro culture. You just get to show up as you are.
